Our campground began in 1972, with Mr. Wilfrid Grégoire, who gave the name of Ile-Marie, in his wife's honor, whose name was Marie. Mr. Grégoire had worked the campground for ten years and then sold it to a cooperative formed by several campers, February 3rd, 1982.

After almost twelve years of operation, the cooperative sold the land to Mr. Patrice Guérin, on November 26th, 1993. Mr. Guérin operated the campground until January 1st 2006. At this time, the company 9161-2646 Quebec Inc. acquired the campground. The company regrouped from previous owners, two couples formed by Patrick and Audrey and Eric and Lyne.
